Boston Stake Relief Society Service
Though our various members are involved in many charities around the Boston Area, we have two special partnerships:
NuDay Syria supports women and children inside Syria and neighboring Turkey. Past service projects include making fleece blankets, hats, scarves, and collecting items and packing containers to go into Syria and Turkey.
We also support blood drives through the American Red Cross, which is particularly valuable when parts of America are hit by disaster (Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, etc.). Those areas have a great need for blood, but are unable to hold blood drives locally. Our members and missionaries volunteer at blood drives here to help send blood to disaster zones.
Our Relief Society manages the Humanitarian Service hours of Missionaries serving locally in the Boston Area. Each missionary spends 2 – 10 hours each week serving organizations and people in need. They do not proselytize during these service hours. Relief Society Humanitarian Service Coordinators (RSHSC) connect with service organizations and organize missionaries according to community needs. Coordinators may also enlist the help of local residents to serve. We invite friends of all faiths and backgrounds to join with us.
